Getting Paid: A Guide for Hosts

Congratulations on becoming a Pridebnb Host!

We're excited to help you navigate the payment process and ensure you receive your hard-earned earnings. Here's everything you need to know about getting paid and managing your payouts.

Pridebnb's Payment Process Explained

By default, the funds are captured from the guest's credit card at the time of purchase. The reservation is then converted into a charge once the Host accepts the request. Stripe holds the funds until the booking period concludes. After two (2) days from the end of the booking, the funds are released to the Host.

The Host can expect to receive the payment within 1-2 weeks. Typically, Stripe schedules the initial payout for 7–14 days after the first successful payment is received at the end of the booking. In some cases, the first payout might take longer depending on the country of operation. Subsequent payouts are released 1-3 days after the end of the booking.

Here is how it works:

  1. Preauthorize: When a guest requests to book a listing, an amount is preauthorized from their payment card to reserve the payment. This amount doesn't leave the guest's card but is earmarked for the booking.

  2. Capture Charge: Once the booking is confirmed, the preauthorized amount is captured as a charge and paid to the connected account of the Host. The money is then converted to the settlement currency (currency of the connected account) and stays in Stripe, ready to be paid to the Host. In order to post a listing and get paid, you need to enter your payout details and be verified by Stripe. For more information, click here.

  3. Pay Commissions: After the charge is captured, commissions are moved to the Pridebnb Stripe account.

  4. Payout: Two (2) days after the booking ends, the money from the connected account is finally paid out to the Host's bank account based on the payout details they provided. The Host can typically expect to receive the payment within 1-2 weeks.

Setting Up Payout Method

As a new Host, the first step is to set up your payout method. This is how you'll receive your earnings from your bookings. It's essential to do this early to avoid any delays. Please note that the payout currency is based on the country and method you select during the setup. Once you've added a payout method, the currency cannot be changed. However, you can set up a new payout method in a different currency at any time.

When You'll Get Paid

Rest assured, your money is on its way! We'll initiate your payout approximately 48 hours after a guest checks out of your place. The timeframe for receiving the money is between 1-2 weeks depending on your method of payment, bank and location.

Review Your Payout Settings

Make sure you have the payout details correctly setted up so you can receive your earnings. If you have multiple listings with check-outs on the same day, your earnings will be sent as a single payout.

Weekend or Holiday Delays

Keep in mind that banking systems don't process transactions on weekends or holidays. As a result, your payout will be processed on the next business day. If you have any questions about the timing, feel free to contact your bank directly.

Timing and Transfer Reviews

Please be aware that all transactions may undergo reviews before they are sent. This is a standard practice to prevent fraud and comply with regulations. In some cases, this review process may cause a delay in receiving your funds. In such instances, Stripe may require additional information to verify your identity.

Fees and Payout Calculation

It's essential to understand any potential fees that may apply to your payouts. Your financial institution or payout method might charge additional fees. To calculate your payout, deduct the Host service fee, any Co-Host payouts, and any other applicable fees from your total earnings.

Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellation Refunds

If a guest cancels their reservation, they may be eligible for a refund according to your cancellation policy. The refund amount will be deducted from your future payouts until fully refunded to the guest.

Host Cancellation Penalties

Please remember that cancellations can negatively impact guests and the Pridebnb community. As a result, certain Host cancellation penalties may apply.
