Managing Reservation Changes: Modifying Guest Count

Planning your trip just got more flexible! While changing the dates of a confirmed reservation isn't currently possible, adjusting the number of guests is an option. In this article, we'll explore the step-by-step process of requesting changes to the number of guests on your reservation and provide you with key insights to make the process seamless.

Changing a Reservation Before Your Trip

Please be aware that at this time, it is not possible to make changes to the dates of your confirmed reservation. You will have to request a cancellation and then rebook your trip.

However, if you need to make changes to your confirmed reservation related to the number of guests, you can submit a change request to your host. Here's how it works.

Changing the Number of Guests

To make changes to your reservation, follow these steps:

  • Go to Inbox and click "As a guest".

  • Select the reservation you want to change in the message marked "Accepted".

  • Type the message requesting to adjust the number of guests.

  • Review your changes and click "Send message."

Once you've sent the request, your host will receive a notification to approve or decline the changes.

How Changes Work

Depending on the Host's policy, changing the number of guests may affect the total cost of your stay.

The original and new totals will be shown before you submit the change request. Once the host accepts the changes, the modification will be processed. Any necessary charges or refunds will be displayed before you confirm the change.

If the Host declines your request or doesn't respond, your reservation will remain unchanged.

Other Details

Here are a few additional things to keep in mind when submitting a change request:

  • Please note that changes cannot be made if your check-in date is less than two days away.
  • You cannot make changes if your checkout date has already passed.
  • Once changes have been made, any subsequent modifications will need to go through the same process as a new request.
  • Once a reservation has commenced, you cannot change the number of guests.
  • If you need to add more guests, use the Resolution Center to process any additional payments agreed upon with the host.
