Before You Arrive

Find your reservation details

Visit your Inbox "As a guest" to access essential information, including the address, your host's contact details, and your billing receipt. Typically, check-in information becomes available 48 hours before your reservation begins.

Communicate with your host

Before your arrival, send a message to your host to confirm important details:

  • Check-in and checkout times.
  • Arrival information.
  • Key exchange process or alternative access method.
  • Contact information, especially if either party will be without phone or internet access during the trip.
  • Any additional questions you may have.

If the listing description does not specify check-in or checkout times, the default check-in time is usually 3:00 PM, and checkout is at 11:00 AM (local time), unless otherwise indicated by the host.

In-person key exchanges

Some hosts prefer to personally greet guests and provide keys or entry codes. If this is the case, check for travel advisories to allow extra time in case of flight delays, inclement weather, or road closures.

Alternative check-in methods

  • Self check-in: Some hosts may offer self check-in options, allowing you to enter the accommodation without direct interaction. Messaging with instructions: Hosts may send you detailed instructions through messaging platforms on how to access the property.

  • Lockbox: In certain cases, hosts may leave the keys in a lockbox on-site for your convenience.

  • Assistance from a neighbor, co-host, or doorperson: Depending on the arrangements, someone else may be available to meet and assist you.

By following these guidelines, you can ensure a smooth check-in process and start your trip on the right foot. If you have any further questions or concerns, don't hesitate to communicate with your host for clarification and assistance.
